Hello, my name is Jessamine. Welcome to my vintage blog.  My style stretches from the 1920’s to the 60’s, but I love fashion through history, so I’m inspired by medieval, Regency, Victorian, Edwardian through to Glam Rock and 70’s Folk.  I usually start with an old film as inspiration, but still like to keep up-to-date by dipping into Vogue. If you know what has been tried before, you can find a vintage or retro connection. It’s all about making it your own and not being afraid to stand out from the crowd. Life’s too short to have a jeans and T-shirt day, unless it’s inspired by a Hollywood legend of course! Now that I have an extensive collection of old and new in my wardrobe, I like to recreate looks I love using what I already have. You don’t need to spend lots to look good and change your style.

I knit, sew, just about crochet and love sketching out new outfits or re-creating old dresses for which I can’t find patterns. I enjoy any crafts that can be useful creating accessories too. I have friends who also love dressing up and look stylish too. A few have lived through the decades I’m looking back to, so their input is invaluable. I’m even lucky enough to have been entrusted with some of their beautiful clothes and accessories which I have promised to wear and to love. I hope they inspire you too.

The purpose of this blog is to share my passion for everything vintage. I am starting with clothes and beauty inspiration, but I’m sure homewares and crafts will be featured once I’ve mastered this. I often have trouble finding exactly what I’m looking for clothes or accessories -wise, and tutorials for specific hair or beauty looks.  I’ll share what I’ve made, what I’m looking for and where I find it.

I am happy to take commissions for reproducing made to measure vintage clothes. Checkout  my patterns for the basic shapes I use. I can figure out patterns from films or photos too. I aim to be as accurate as possible, unless there are modifications you request.
